Tess Gatward

Tess graduated from the University of Bristol in 2004 with a BSc in Zoology. She then joined the innovative Teach First program to teach science for two years before completing the GDL and LPC with BPP.
Tess began her training contract at Dawsons in September 2008 in the Family Department. She gained valuable family law experience in areas ranging from divorce and ancillary relief to private children issues and pre-nuptial agreements, through a number of different processes, including mediation and collaborative law, as well as working on more litigious cases.
She then undertook a seat with the property department, learning the ins and outs of both commercial and residential conveyancing, whether buying, selling, leasing or renting property. She was able to assist fee earners with drafting and research, as well as helping with day to day conduct of files.
Tess returned to the family department to consolidate her knowledge in this area, prior to moving to her final seat in Private Client
