Mathew qualified with Dawsons in 1991 and is widely known for his expertise in commercial and contractual disputes, frequently in an international context. He also has considerable experience in commercial fraud claims, professional negligence disputes, company shareholder and partnership disputes, and breach of trust claims.
He regularly represents clients in disputes in the High Court, as well as in arbitrations before some of the major arbitral institutions such as the London Court of International Arbitration, the ICC International Court of Arbitration, and the London Maritime Arbitrators Association. He is also a strong advocate for mediation and has achieved successful results for clients in numerous mediations.
Mathew is a Solicitor-Advocate (Higher Courts Civil), Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a Member of the London Court of International Arbitration, and a member of the London Solicitors Litigation Association.
Mathew speaks fluent French, has given a number of lectures on the English litigation system to legal conferences in France, and has written for legal journals and for The Times.
