
Julian is a senior associate, specialising in high-worth matrimonial cases. Julian also deals regularly with cohabitation disputes, separation agreements, pre nuptial agreements and additional financial provision for children of unmarried parents.
'Aggressive pragmatism' is how Julian describes his method of practice. Julian believes that his ability to review cases and impose a workable strategy is what assists his clients achieve their objectives.
Julian qualified as a barrister and solicitor in the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the High Court of Australia (including the Federal Court of Australia and the Family Court of Australia) in 1996. He has been practicing in the United Kingdom since 2000 and is cross admitted in this jurisdiction.
As a barrister, Julian conducted his own trials on a regular basis and is therefore not afraid of robustly pursuing his client's case when strength is required. This is not to say that Julian does not agree that a negotiated settlement is a good settlement. He also believes that his own trial experience helps him to focus on client objectives and the end result as well as assisting him with dealing with Counsel in the preparation of his client's cases.
