Training Programme
Recruitment
Training consists of four six-month seats in at least three of the following departments: Property, Private Client, Corporate and Commercial, Employment, Litigation and Family. The final seat may be in the department the trainee qualifies into, subject to the availability of places. You will share an office with a partner, who will assist you and formally review your progress throughout and at the end of your seat. The Professional Skills Course is taught externally at the College of Law.

Who should apply?
Second-year law students and final-year non-law students with excellent A level grades and who are expecting to achieve at least a 2.1 degree. Applications are also welcomed from candidates who are currently on, or have recently completed, the PgDL or LPC course.

Candidates need to show excellent intellectual capabilities, a keen interest in the firm's areas of expertise and a practical and commercial approach to problem-solving. Trainees are the future of our firm, an important part of building on its success. A large number of our current partners and solicitors trained with us.

How Does Recruitment of Trainees Work?
Our senior personnel will look closely at your application and short-listed candidates will be invited to attend an interview. You will be given a short case study and asked to discuss its main issues. The aim of this discussion is to see how you approach the problem and apply your knowledge. You may then be invited to attend a second interview. At that stage you will also have an opportunity to meet other members of the firm and to have an informal chat with one or two of our existing trainees.
