Charities
The charities sector has become highly regulated and charity trustees are subject to significant statutory duties and responsibilities which are subject to frequent change and refinement.  Charities and their trustees must be fully aware of their duties under the terms of their constitutional documents, regulatory requirements and the general law.

The multi-disciplinary team in Dawsons' Charities Group acts for many charities, including schools and colleges, religious charities, grant making and operational charities and private charitable trusts, as well as individual trustees.  The Group advises on all aspects of their activities including incorporation and establishment, obtaining charitable status, trusts administration and governance issues, trustees' rights and obligations, brand protection, tax, property and employment issues, and dispute resolution.  Where necessary, we work with other advisers, such as accountants and actuaries to provide a seamless service.

Our charging rates are competitive. We understand that educational institutions, other charities and their individual trustee must balance the need for good advice with the obligation to use charitable funds wisely.
